Apply to the ECPLIpSE Project

The ECLIpSE project (Early Career Leaders in Inquiry Science Education) is a professional development opportunity focused on science teachers in their first five years of teaching.  The project consists of a two-day workshop in August, two “webinar” sessions in the fall of 2009 and a follow-up meeting at the spring 2010 Wisconsin Society of Science Teachers State Conference.

The purpose of the project is twofold.  First, participants will deepen their understanding of science inquiry and how to effectively implement inquiry investigations in their classroom. Participants will also learn how to access and use authentic data from online sources, including NASA, to enhance student learning.  Second, participants will develop a network of early-career teachers for mutual support and collaboration.

Participants will receive lodging at the in-person workshop and WSST conference and registration for the WSST conference.  Participants will also receive a $75 stipend for participating in the workshop and can receive up to 2 graduate credits at a reduced cost.  The credits can be transferred in to UWO MSE C&I – Science Emphasis graduate program.
