Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow for Winter Workshop!

Mark your calendars and get ready for some fun at Winter Workshop. Sponsored by the Wisconsin Association for Environmental Education, this annual event takes place the last weekend in January. Outdoors enthusiasts, educators, and students are all welcome. Bring the whole family for a fun weekend January 29-31, 2010. 

 

This year’s theme is HEALTHY COMMUNITIES with three tracks: NATURAL COMMUNITIES, LOCAL FOODS, and SERVICE LEARNING. Presentation proposals are still being accepted through December 15, 2009. Visit WAEE’s Winter Workshop for more information.

 

Highlights this year include:

·         LOCAL FOODS PANEL followed by Fresh, the movie (Friday night)

·         Keynote Speaker, PROFESSOR CLAYTON RUSSELL “Minding Our Place” (Saturday)

·         WINTER OLYMPICS (Saturday afternoon)

·         CANNONBALL Bluegrass Music (Saturday night) and Raven’s Cache Wine Tasting

·         Access to IOLA WINTER SPORTS CLUB

 

Unlike previous years, this year’s winter workshop will take place at Central Wisconsin Environmental Station in Amherst Junction, WI since Treehaven is being renovated. Access to Iola Winter Sports Club is included in registration costs. Bunk-style lodging is available. Registration will be available shortly.
